Teaching/Learning Literature

This is an edgy site with a that has information about MANY pieces of literature and events in history.  The last time I checked, poetry was considered to be literature; however, shmoop thinks that poetry is so important that it actually has its own separate catagory.  For each piece of literature or event in history there are sections with titles like “In a Nutshell,” “Why Should I Care?”

When previewing the site, I thought that it would be a model format for student research about history or literature.  Students could create a webpage using iWeb to be posted on teacherpages–an alternative to or step in the writing of a  formal research paper
